King in for Binns

Boro Manager Steve King has made his first summer signing, reuniting with left sided midfielder Dale Binns, a member of the Lewes side which King led to the Blue Square South Division title in 2007-08.

29 year old Binns started his career at Hendon before moves to Stevenage Borough and Cambridge City, after his spell at Lewes he signed for Maidenhead United at the start of the 2008-09 campaign, but in February he moved to Hayes & Yeading, securing a second successive promotion from the Blue Square South this time via the play offs.

Binns made 39 appearances in the Blue Square Premier last season, scoring two goals.

Commenting after signing Binns said: "I am happy to have signed for Farnborough, a club that is ambitious and clearly going places, re-uniting with Steve King was a major consideration in my decision, coupled with joining up with a few of the lads I have played with in the past at Stevenage Borough and Lewes."

He added: "This moves gives me a great opportunity to get back to the Conference Premier Division and I am looking forward to meeting up with the management team and players for pre season."

Steve King is delighted to have captured one of his main targets ahead of Boro’s Blue Square South campaign: "Dale is an experienced player at the highest level of Non League Football, he has a great turn of pace an exceptional work ethic and will give us great balance down the left hand side.

When he joined Hayes & Yeading it was widely acknowledged that his contribution was a major factor in the club winning promotion, and we have had to work hard to secure his services, with a number of other clubs looking to sign him, we enjoyed a great working relationship at Lewes and I knew this would be in our favour when he made his final decision."

Binns has signed an initial two year deal with the club.
