FaST Ground Development Fund

FaST, in conjunction with the Club’s Directors, has taken the decision to launch a new fund raising scheme to be known as FaST Ground Development Fund directly replacing the Boost The Boro Fund, as announced at the FaST AGM on 26 April 2018. This was the consequence of a review recognising the disappointing level of support given by fans to the previous scheme over the past two years. Both the Club and FaST are of course grateful to those who did donate cash but with no standing order payments set up by fans the overall sum fell short of what was hoped for. It was therefore decided to change direction and introduce a new scheme geared solely to FaST ground projects and would no longer support the player budget.

The new scheme will allow FaST to go back to our roots. We have a long history of providing funds towards improving and maintaining the club’s ground facilities going back to 2005 and much of the work has been carried out by our own members. To carry on this good work we need your support and it is sincerely hoped that the fans will be more supportive of this new initiative and pledge more money, particularly by way of regular standing order payments.

Since day one FaST, through Members and fans contributions, has raised a sum of over £140,000 to cover all projects undertaken and this is in fact worth much more to the Club when taking into account the savings on labour charges. The matchday experience of our spectators has improved immeasurably and FaST is keen to carry on this work in the future. All work is carried out either voluntarily or at the most economic trade rates available and of course the FaST Board also functions on a purely voluntary basis all for the benefit of your club.

The new scheme is to include members and non-members and will include the following methods of payment towards FaST projects:

  • Standing Orders, Electronic Transfers or Cheques made payable to FaST
  • One-off donations to FaST specifically for FaST Funding
  • By donation bucket on Matchdays on the 50/50 table
  • Membership fees income raised by more fans joining FaST will help fund the scheme. This also enables new members access to FaST membership benefits such as reduced costs of travelling on minibuses to away games and discounted club merchandise in the Club Shop.
