Farnborough Football Club announces the loan signing of goalkeeper Jordan Beeney from Sky Bet League One side, Charlton Athletic.

Manager, Spencer Day comments: “I’m delighted to bring in Jordan who at 6’5 will give us urgent presence in goal. He’s a pedigree goalkeeper and has already played on loan at Dartford this season and, as much as he’s young, he jumped at chance to come and continue his football education.

“Sadly I’ve let Matt Cafer leave as it wouldn’t be fair or cost effective for either party to remain. Matt is a top guy but has lost confidence recently and I needed to make a change. With him travelling from Weymouth three times a week the option of staying just doesn’t work financially for either party so we wish him every success in the future as he is a decent keeper with a good future.

“We also have Aiden [Upward] who is developing very well with Keith [Benjamin, Goalkeeper Coach] and I have no issue giving a longer term run in the future depending on the future position with Jordan.

“We have signed Bobby Dormer from Fleet Town who has shown a real hunger to succeed at Step 3 although he is FA Trophy Cup tied. A few other potential squad members have signed forms to try and prove themselves but we certainly are struggling with injuries and illness for tomorrows game.

“We also have a seven day approach out for a left back that we will pursue after the FA Trophy as again Cup tied.

“Extremely doubtful tomorrow are Glen Southam, Kieran Forbes, Liam Bellamy and CJ Fearn but the boys will give it their very best in this big match and hopefully our supporters will turn up in numbers and help us through.”
