Boro defeated by The Reds

Redditch United inflicted a second consecutive Home defeat on Farnborough at the weekend, capping a disappointing week on the pitch for Boro’.

Disaster struck for the hosts on the stroke of Half Time as Huggins was pressured by Angus when in possession and his loose pass allowed Da Veiga Monteiro the chance to run through on the Farnborough goal. Liam Stone brought down the Redditch United man outside the box and was shown a straight red card, even though Ciardini got behind his goalkeeper to cover.

Striker, Cureton was gracefully sacrificed for Farnborough, allowing substitute goalkeeper Luke Cairney to take his place between the sticks.

With a short run-up, Andi Thanoj stepped up and curled the resulting free-kick into the bottom right corner to give his side the lead on the stroke of Half Time. Farnborough 0-1 Redditch United.

Hutchings was allowed to travel forwards down the left and he picked out Regis inside the box but his low effort was saved by Ross’ left-boot.

Angus broke free down the left once again and after taking a heavy touch he was surprised to find that Cairney didn’t come out until late but the Redditch United striker’s shot was straight at the goalkeeper.

A minute before the 90 minute mark, Hutchings exchanged passes with Ciardini on the left and the latters low cross from inside the box was slotted home by Perry Coles who got off the mark for the Season but also injured himself in the process. Farnborough 1-2 Redditch United.

Farnborough went in search of an equaliser and Coles set Ciardini who dribbled into the right channel of the box but he blasted high over the bar with his weaker right-foot.
