Beadle strike separates the Tangerines and the Yellows

Farnborough lost their eight game unbeaten run on Easter Monday, going down to a single goal at mid-table Ashford Town (Middlesex).

Nic Ciardini came close for Farnborough a quarter of hour into the game with a free-kick from the right which dropped the wrong side of the post.

Two minutes later, Ashford Town’s Jack Beadle breached the Farnborough defence and got away from Huggins but was denied by goalkeeper Aaron Bufton who saved well inside the box.

Just before Half Time, Farnborough defender Curtis Osano was forced off after pulling up while embarking on a run up the pitch. It is hoped that the injury isn’t too serious for the reliable defender with the Play-Offs just around the corner.

HALF TIME: Ashford Town (Middlesex) 1-0 Farnborough

On 66 minutes, Jack Beadle scored the goal which separated the two sides. After easily drifting inside from the right wing, the Ashford Town number eleven unleashed a fine strike over Bufton and into the top left corner. Ashford Town (Middlesex) 1-0 Farnborough.

With 20 minutes to go, Farnborough went in search of an equaliser and Jamie Cureton was to be denied by Ashford Town goalkeeper Tyler Tobin who tipped his shot onto the post before the rebound was scrambled off the line by Alex Fisher.

Eight minutes later, the Ashford Town goal continued to live a charmed life as Charlie Allen, Jack Barton and Cureton were all denied by a combination of Tobin’s saves and last-ditch goal-line clearances.

Farnborough had an opportunity to equalise in the dying embers of the game as Oyenuga – who has been Farnborough’s stand out player recently – advanced into the box and pulled the ball back to substitute Allen who failed to score from six yards out with a tame effort.

FULL TIME: Ashford Town (Middlesex) 1-0 Farnborough
