A long trip to Wales awaits Spencer Day’s side at the start of a busy weekend as Farnborough visit promotion candidates, Merthyr Town in the Evo-Stik League South Premier.

Farnborough

Boro’ face a tough challenge on Saturday making a 150 mile journey (each way) to Wales, before a quick turnaround sees Merthyr Town’s fellow promotion contenders, Slough Town visit The Rushmoor Community Stadium on Monday afternoon.

Last weekend, The Yellows suffered a second consecutive loss in the League, crashing to a 1-3 Home defeat to Redditch United.

It will be a touch-and-go decision on some players for Manager Spencer Day, who is having to deal with a number of injuries to his squad members.

Speaking on the upcoming weekend, Manager Spencer Day said: “We’ve got a very long trip followed by a ridiculous turn-around. We’ll embrace it as two very big games.

“Two Play-Off sides up next. It’s not getting any easier and we really are bare bones.”

On Merthyr: “They had the best Home record in the League [last Season]. It’s an artificial pitch – unfortunately we haven’t managed to train on one.

“We’ll get them in this week, we’ll have a good look at everybody and set up right for a very difficult long journey on Saturday but we’re going to give it a go. We’re not going to roll over. We’re a really good bunch.”
