The Club announces the signing of goalkeeper, Zaki Oualah from Aylesbury United, subject to paperwork approval.

Oualah, who has recently turned 22, has a vast amount of Non-League experience for his age, listing: Bedford Town, Merstham, Burnham, Leighton Town, Godalming Town, Harefield United, Hungerford Town, Uxbridge and Metropolitan Police as his previous Clubs.

Speaking on the current goalkeeper situitation, Manager, Spencer Day explained: “It’s been a nightmare of a week on the keeper front after Aaron’s injury following on from Aiden’s horrible accident leaving us with no fit keepers at all.

“A frantic search has had many false starts that included what I thought was a Football League Championship side loan that fell apart on Wednesday due to finances and another signing fall apart due to complications on a registration.

“Having learnt that Zaki might be available we have this evening submitted a transfer form to the League and are extremely grateful to everyone at Aylesbury United that agreed to support the move especially their Manager Glynn Creaser as we where completely in their hands at such short notice.

“However we have signed one of the very best keepers in the League so I’m extremely happy to welcome Zaki to the club.

“Even though its all happened today Zaki is very highly sought after, trains with AFC Wimbledon’s first team almost full time and has a bright future ahead of him.

“He gives us excellent competition with Aaron when he recovers from his injury and as I have told the rest of the squad that they must all fight for their places which can only be a good thing as we look to the Play-Offs.”
