Spencer Day has been named the Macron and Nicholas Rowe Tailoring Ryman League Premier Division’s Manager of the Month for April.

On Thursday, Spencer was named as April’s winner of the monthly competition to reward the Ryman League’s top bosses.

Having spent the majority of 2016 in the Ryman League Premier Division relegation zone, eight wins throughout March and April helped Farnborough to claw their way out of the bottom four and finish in a creditable 18th place.

Day’s side took an impressive 15 points from a possible 18 in the final month of the Season, only dropping points to the Ryman Premier Champions, Hampton & Richmond Borough.

A delighted Day told www.farnboroughfc.co.uk: “It’s always nice to get recognised for awards and especially pleasing when the club gets two!

“My support team takes the same amount of credit and these awards are for everyone involved in the dressing room.

“I remember sitting in the back of the kit van after we had just lost to a last few minutes goal at Canvey Island in early 2016 where we had played really well and said we just needed a small amount of money to get a couple of extra players in and we would have a chance of safety.

“The support of the club to make that happen was fantastic and to be the only team in our division to win every game in March followed up by a fantastic April is testament to a great set of players and staff.

Day added: “Those last minute winners home and away against Kingstonian were highlights and it was good to give our fans something to cheer about these last few months and see reward for them sticking with us.

“Now we can all look forward to the new season with optimism with a lot of this squad staying and hopefully some exciting signings to be announced shortly.

Enjoy your summer!
