Farnborough lose unbeaten Home record in the League

Hanwell Town took the lead after a minute when a quickly taken free-kick on the right was played to Christian-Law whose through ball was latched on to by Austin.

The visiting front-mans cross from inside the Farnborough Penalty area was pushed by Bufton into the path of Zak Joseph who made no mistake from close range. Farnborough 0-1 Hanwell Town.

Farnborough responded with an equaliser on 11 minutes as Barton set Oyenuga free down the right and his teasing cross was deflected goal-bound by Atkinson and from Minter’s save, the returning Jamie Cureton fired home the rebound infront of the PRE Stand. Farnborough 1-1 Hanwell Town.

Ciardini played a corner on the left short to Barton whose in-swinging effort flew just past Minter’s left-hand post.

As Farnborough tried to play their way up the field, Treacher played a ball into Ciardini’s feet on the left and he turned inside Hills and lofted a great through ball for Coles who sprung the off-side trap but volleyed his effort agonisingly wide when one-on-one with Minter.

A fantastic move from Farnborough saw Emmerson feed Coles in a pocket of space and he drove forwards before releasing Huggins down the right whose low cross found Cureton but his first-time strike hit the post and Minter denied Huggins with the rebound.

Emmerson exchanged passes with Ciardini down the left and the formers low left-footed strike with comfortable for Minter.

A Farnborough goal was coming and Spencer Day’s side got their just rewards on the stroke of Half Time. Huggins played the ball out wide to Oyenuga who drove down the right and his low cross was missed by Atkinson fell to Perry Coles who rifled the ball into the top-left corner. Farnborough 2-1 Hanwell Town.

HALF TIME: Farnborough 2-1 Hanwell Town

From the Hanwell Town left-back position, Allen hooked a pass into Watson who dribbled the ball a long-distance of the pitch, including past four Farnborough players, but when one-on-one with Bufton his left-footed strike hit the post and Fearn got in the way to make a vital clearance.

As Huggins exchanged passes with Oyenuga down the right, the pulled a cross back to Cureton inside the box but his first-time effort was off-target.

There was a scramble inside the Hanwell Town box from a Ciardini corner as Emmerson, Pearce and then Coles all had shots blocked by the visiting defence and then Pearce’s shot fell comfortably wide.

Boro’ were made to pay for missed chances as Hanwell Town drew level on 70 minutes. A Pearce clearance fell to Hills who picked out opening-goalscorer, Zak Joseph who needed no invitation to dribble away from four Farnborough players and finish into the far corner. Farnborough 2-2 Hanwell Town.

A good through ball from Hanwell Town substitute, Ishmael was latched on to by Austin who got a bit of fortune as he cut inside of Fearn before firing a right-footed strike high over the bar. Pearce throwing his body in the way may have done enough to put off the visiting striker.

Ten minutes before time, Hanwell Town took the lead for the second time in the game as Tom Duffy’s volleyed clearance up the field wasn’t dealt with by the Farnborough defence and Courtney Austin took advantage to roll the ball into the bottom corner with his left-foot from inside the box. Farnborough 2-3 Hanwell Town.

Farnborough were pushing hard for a late equaliser and an Emmerson cross from the edge of the box found Coles near the back post but the Farnborough frontman glanced his header wide while being pressured by the oncoming Minter.

A long-ball from Emmerson wasn’t dealt with by the Hanwell Town defence as Coles layed the ball off to Orenuga out wide whose cross from the right was taken off the head of Cureton by visiting defender.

In the dying minutes of the game, Huggins found Orenuga in space who played the ball to Oyenuga out wide who cut inside of Ishmael and his cross was missed by Coles and put behind by the Hanwell Town defence.

Farnborough ‘threw the kitchen sink’ but in the end The Geordies saw the game out to inflict our first League defeat of the Season at The Rushmoor Community Stadium.
