It’s a six-pointer at Bloomfields this Saturday as Farnborough travel to 20th placed Needham Market in the Ryman League Premier Division relegation battle, kick off 3pm.

Farnborough Camp

Farnborough will be looking to ward off another challenger to their recent strong form in the League, heading into the final month of the Season.

A crucial 3-2 win away to Billericay Town last Saturday has ignited a late charge for Spencer Day’s side to pull of the ‘Great Escape’.

New signings, midfielder Jack Battie (dual registered with Guildford City) and striker Oliver Bailey (from Gosport Borough) were handed debuts last weekend, helping Boro’ to a second consecutive away win.

Goals from Jack Smith, and Jack Battie and Freddie Grant (both free-kicks) saw Farnborough record their 11th League win of the Season.

Spencer Day’s side are unbeaten in their last four League games and are currently four points adrift of 20th placed Needham Market, with a game in hand on Saturday’s opponents.

The reverse fixture back in November saw Needham Market come away from The Rushmoor Community Stadium with a point in a 1-1 draw. Bogdan Vastsuk was Boro’s scorer on that day.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s crucial Away trip, Manager Spencer Day told GetHampshire: “It’s a massive game, yes, but it’s certainly not a decider at this stage.

“It promises to be an exciting game and we’ll go there and give it our best shot, but there’s five tough games to go after this and it’s not the be-all-and-end-all for the loser.

“What’s pleasing is that we go into the game with confidence. We’re unbeaten in March and have only lost one game in eight, so that’s given us a chance when we were all but written off a few weeks ago.”

Farnborough last time out (vs Billericay Town): Aaron Bufton (gk), John Oyenuga, Freddie Grant, CJ Fearn (Capt), Jack Smith, Terrell Forbes, Jack Battie, Matt Ball, Dennis Oli, Bogdan Vastsuk, Merrick James-Lewis, Oliver Bailey, Usman Adeniji, Ryan Zidyana, Josh Francis and Melvin Minter (gk).
