Farnborough look to build on their brave performance in mid-week as promotion-chasing Tonbridge Angels are in town this Saturday, kick off 3pm.
Last time out, a controversial Penalty and two late goals helped 3rd placed Hampton & Richmond Borough to a 3-1 victory, with Freddie Grant netting a very impressive goal for Farnborough.
Speaking to GetHampshire in the week, Manager Spencer Day said: “Saturday (at Canvey Island) was more proof just how much we need to get these strikers in.
“Again we played some excellent football at times but came up against a goalkepeer who was outstanding on the day.
“We had nine decent attempts at goal of which he saved seven, but no disrespect to the lads we had out there but we can’t rely on 18 or 19-year-olds to get us out of this. We need to start putting these away and quick.”
Farnborough last time out (vs Hampton & Richmond Borough): Melvin Minter (gk), John Oyenuga, Freddie Grant, CJ Fearn (Capt), Jack Smith, Sam Pearce, Perry Ryan, Jack Barton, Bogdan Vastsuk, George Jeacock, Kevin Krans, Usman Adeniji, Ryan Zidyana, Harry Knight and Dean Joseph-Whittingham.
Farnborough lost 0-3 to Merstham last time out on Home turf
Managed by former Farnborough midfielder Steve McKimm, opponents Tonbridge Angels occupy the final play-off position (5th) with 52 points from 29 games.
Last time out, The Angels bagged another 3 points with an emphatic 4-0 Home win over Leatherhead.
Speaking to Kent and Sussex Courier this week, Coach Justin Luchford said: “Their pitch is terrible and they are fighting for their lives.
“It’s a tough place to go. We’re good away from home, we’re strong.
“We should take so much confidence out of the last two performances – the last 20 minutes at Hampton and against Leatherhead.
“We’ve got to go to Farnborough with our heads held high and win again.”
Tonbridge Angels last time out: Anthony Di Bernardo (gk), Jack Parter, Ben Harrison, Tom Parkinson, Jerome Sobers (Capt), Sonny Miles, Bradley Wood-Garness, Anthony Riviere, Nathan Elder, Luke Blewden, Nick Wheeler, Laurence Ball, Tommy Whitnell, Luke Allen, Charlie Webster and Jack Brivio.
