Farnborough head to Silver Jubilee Park to compete in the Hendon Invitation Cup, taking on Slough Town on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellows head to North London to face Slough Town on Saturday and either Hendon or Carshalton Athletic on Sunday as part of the Hendon Invitation Cup.

Boro’ began Pre-Season 2016 with a win, a draw and a defeat – with the latter a narrow 0-1 Home defeat to Ryman Premier outfit, Merstham last Saturday.

Farnborough are also still to welcome back Soldier, Keith Emmerson who has recently returned from Army exercise in Kenya and has been given family leave.

Speaking about last weekends Pre-Season Friendly defeat, Manager Spencer Day told GetHampshire: “It was a good fitness exercise against a strong and talented Merstham team.”

“It gives us a opportunity to assess the squad further for the double header this weekend, but overall we’re in good fettle and I’m pleased where we are with our preparations.”

Giving his views on Farnborough’s Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central Fixture list which was released last Friday, Day said: “It’s a really tough start but I’m glad about that.

“I want the players to know just how difficult it’s going to be this season and I want them focused for a long, hard season right from the first kick-off.”

Slough Town

Slough Town compete in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division, and finished last Season in 17th place.

The Rebels, who beat Farnborough 4-0 in a Pre-Season Friendly last year, are led by Joint-Managers, Neil Baker and Jon Underwood.

The Berkshire Club made a number of signings over the Summer, acquiring the services of sharpshooter Charlie Moone (Hampton & Richmond Borough), Gavin James (Maidenhead United) and Simon Dunn & Harrison Gilkes (both Basingstoke Town).

Slough Town have two former Farnborough players in their ranks in full-back, Joel Jacobs and midfielder, Charlie Losasso.

Last weekend, The Rebels recorded a comfortable 8-0 Pre-Season Friendly win over Godalming Town, courtesy of goals from Lee Barney (3), Harrison Gilkes (2), Charlie Moone and Sean Fraser.
