Farnborough got their Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central Season underway on Saturday with a 3-2 victory over Bedford Town.
A first half Eddie Smith brace and a second half winner from Dennis Oli helped Boro’ to their first 3 points of the new campaign.
20-year-old midfielder, Sam Shaban and local goalkeeper, Jamie Cunningham were signed in time to make up part of Saturday’s Match Day squad.
Boss, Spencer Day also gave new signing, Jamie Cureton a run-out during the second half of Saturday’s victory.
The Yellows side host Premier League outfit, Crystal Palace before visiting Petersfield Town on Tuesday evening in the League.
Speaking after Saturday’s win, Manager Spencer Day beamed: “There’s a lot of positivity around the Club. We’ve got Monday night [against Crystal Palace] to look forward to.
“We appreciate we’re going to be chasing shadows but we’ll embrace it. It was an opportunity we couldn’t afford to turn down. Fabulous for the players, fabulous for the Club and lets build on all of these positive things.
“From us in the dressing room we’ll literally just take the old cliché game at a time, deal with Monday, but our whole focus is on Tuesday night [against Petersfield Town].”

The Eagle’s boss, Alan Pardew is set to bring a strong First Team squad to The Rushmoor Community Stadium for their last Pre-Season Friendly before the League Season starts.
On Saturday, Crystal Palace brushed aside Spanish La Liga side, Valencia, winning 3-1 at Selhurst Park courtesy of a brace from Connor Wicham brace and a goal from Mile Jedinak.
Crystal Palace finished 15th in the Barclays Premier League last Season with 42 points from 38 games.
Speaking to www.cpfc.co.uk after bagging a brace, The Eagles’ striker Connor Wickham said: “It’s good to be back and get on the scoresheet today, and hopefully I’ll continue that form in the league.
“It’s also good to be back playing at Selhurst and get the win. I didn’t expect there to be this many people but the fans came out as they always do and backed us, and I’m sure they’re just as excited as us for the season.
“The league starts next week and we still have a lot to work on and stuff to build on but we’re there or there abouts now.”
