This Saturday, Farnborough begin their Buildbase FA Trophy campaign at Home to Barnstaple Town at the Preliminary Round.

Farnborough

Farnborough take a break from League action with Barnstaple Town the visitors to The Rushmoor Community Stadium in the Buildbase FA Trophy Preliminary Round.

Last weekend, Farnborough had to come from behind twice to rescue a point in a 3-3 Home draw with Arlesey Town in the League.

Striker, Perry Coles scored twice on his full debut with Eddie Smith also netting from the Penalty spot in a game which saw Boro’ take a share of the spoils and still remain top of the League.

Manager, Spencer Day will have to make do without strikers, Dennis Oli and Eddie Smith who both suffered serious injuries over the past two games.

Wide-men, Keith Emmerson and John Oyenuga have also recently suffered knocks in what as been a bad week past week on the injury front for Farnborough.

Ahead of Saturday’s tie, Farnborough boss, Spencer Day said: “There’s no easy games. We’ve got to re-focus. The [FA] Trophy is vital – we need the income.

“We’re really gutted we made a mess of Swindon [Supermarine], although taking nothing away from them.

“We need the fans to back us. We need people to support this Team. We need everyone to support – there’s loads of positivity about the Club, it’s a really exciting place.

“We’re in a little bit of a rut and I think that’s good news because it shows how good we can be and we’ve already been and we will strive to get back to that level of performance as soon as possible and hopefully that’ll be next Saturday.”

Managed by Barry Yeo, The Barum have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 6 so far in the League this Season.

Last weekend, Barnstaple Town let a two-goal lead slip Away to Mangotsfield United, going on to lose 2-3 in the League.

“It is a stage for the players and it is about them trying to perform and going out there to express themselves.

“What’s the worst that can happen?

“If you go down trying no one will complain – it’s when people don’t see the effort and work that they can.”
