Spencer Day’s side continue the quest to get themselves out of the big hole they have dug themselves into, and it doesn’t get any harder than a trip to Essex to take on Canvey Island.

Out of form Boro’ are now 8 points adrift of safety and are in desperate need of points, especially with an extremely tough February ahead of themselves.

Last Saturday, Farnborough suffered a third consecutive League defeat, loosing 0-3 at Home to Merstham in a game of missed chances.

The Yellows were without midfielder, CJ Fearn for that defeat as the Farnborough Captain picked up a knock in the warm-up.

Opposition Camp

Canvey Island, are managed by Danny Heale and occupy 13th place in the Ryman League Premier Division, with 41 points from 32 games.

The Gulls are currently enduring a five game winless run, with their last outing a 0-4 defeat at East Thurrock United on Tuesday evening.

Canvey Island met Farnborough earlier in the Season, with Danny Heale’s side running out comfortable 6-2 winners back in September.

Speaking after last weekends defeat, Manager Danny Heale told Echo news: “I have total confidence in myself,” said Heale. “There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes and I am working harder than ever to change results.

“If we were struggling on the pitch and not creating chances then there would be a much bigger problem and maybe I would question myself but we aren’t.

“The boys are all playing for me and the shirt and they need to believe in themselves. I am still learning and the tide will turn.

“We have a big couple of games against Farnborough and Brentwood Town and we need to be confident heading into those.”

“We won seven matches in a row earlier in the season and maybe people got carried away back then. But we will come out of this run, and are doing all we can to make this happen.”

Canvey Island last time out (vs East Thurrock United): Conor Gough (gk), Jake Pitty, Christian Mbulu, Tambeson Eyong, Richard Halle, Steve Sheehan, Jay Curran, Merrick James-Lewis, Mitchell Gilbey, Martin Tuohy, Tony Stokes, Omarr Lawson, Harrison Chatting, Marlon Agyakwa, Tyrell Miller-Rodney and Aaron Wickham.
