Sadly there was a technical fault in the Interview after the game so I’m giving my thoughts on Monday’s match.

First and foremost on behalf of us all in the dressing room I want to thank our fantastic fans for the support yesterday afternoon.

It was a game that we had completely under control at 2-0 with two goals from Jamie and it seemed a comfortable victory was on the cards.

Only good goalkeeping, the post and clearances off the line kept our opponents in the game but a rash challenge by Eddie gave Fleet some encouragement for the second half.

Even then we hit the bar early after the restart and that would have killed the match. Fleet deserve credit as they kept playing decent football against our 10 men and got themselves back into the game however some of our defending wasn’t good enough even with a man less.

We still kept on creating chances though and the save from Jamie at 2-2 was exceptional. Penalty claims didn’t go our way and when we went 3-2 down we could have feared the worst but a change of system and fresh legs saw us again dominate the last 20 minutes.

A set piece goal by Josh drew us level and again we took control having three more great chances just not quite go for us.

Fleet once or twice caught us on the counter and we had one lucky escape but we deservedly got the three points as we entered stoppage time with a great run by Nic finished by Jamie to get a fantastic hat-trick.

On the balance we must’ve created at least 20 chances in the match against five or six for our opponents and thoroughly deserved to win the game especially having played best part of an hour with only 10 men.

Again I can only thank our wonderful supporters for their support yesterday especially the PRE that sang throughout.

You really were our 12th man and it was great to see the stadium buzzing again and pushing us on the three points and top of the table.

It certainly was an entertaining game but there is no doubt we were rightful winners although our opponents played their part throughout.

With a number of niggly injuries we sustained at Histon it was an even better result for the dressing room and we showed fantastic character in making sure that we were winners despite so much going against us during the game.

Onto the FA Cup!
