Farnborough Fooball Club would like to thank all Supporters who took up the offer of discounted Conference Promotion Final tickets and traveled to Wembley Stadium on Sunday (yesterday).

Many thanks to all Supporters who purchased vouchers from the Club and a massive thank you goes to Sue Reason for organising a Supporters Coach as well as managing voucher sales and ticket exchanges. Thank you to all other volunteers who helped for their time and effort.

At a sunny Wembley Stadium, Bristol Rovers sealed an immediate return to The Football League with a 5-3 penalty shoot-out victory over Grimsby Town in the Conference Play-Off Final.

The Mariners took an early advantage as Lenell John-Lewis’ shot rebounded off goalkeeper Will Puddy and onto his face before rolling across the line.

However, the crucial equaliser came on the half-hour mark from a corner as Ellis Harrison punished bad defending by firing the ball home from 12 yards out.

And that’s how the scoreline remained until 90 minutes and through extra-time as neither team could break the deadlock.

So it went to penalties and with Rovers leading 3-2 in the shoot-out, Jon-Paul Pittman sent his spot-kick high over the bar before Lee Mansell settled the contest and booked the Pirates’ return to Sky Bet League 2.

The Attendance at Wembley Stadium was 47,029. A new record for the Conference Promotion Final.
