This Saturday (22 August) evening, Reading Women return to WSL 2 action against 9th placed London Bees at The Rushmoor Community Stadium, kick off 6pm.

The Royals are unbeaten in eight FA Women’s Super League with BT Sport games and are hot on the heels of current League leaders Doncaster Rovers Belles, who sit two points ahead.

The Bees, meanwhile, are second bottom of the standings and just five points above bottom side Watford after 13 games.

Reading striker Helen Ward insists Saturday’s opponents London Bees are just as desperate for the points despite being at opposite ends of the FA WSL 2 table.

Ward says Reading cannot underestimate the Bees, despite beating them 3-0 last weekend in the FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup. “It’s always difficult to play a team twice in a row because you definitely find out a lot about each other,” said Wales international Ward.

“We found out a bit about the Bees and the same I’m sure goes for them, so it will be interesting to see how we match up again, but we are going into it, as always, looking for three points to help us in our push for promotion.

“We know if we turn up and are at our best we are going to be a match for anyone, but while we’ve had two good results against them already this season that doesn’t count for much.

“They are fighting for points just as much as we are, so we will have to go into it with a good attitude. Hopefully our quality and talents can show through and we will get that result.”
