Second half demolishing condemns Farnborough to a heavy defeat at League leaders Bromley

Goals from Moses Ademola, Jack Holland, Bradley Goldberg and a brace from former Farnborough loanee Jamie Slabber sent Mark Goldberg’s Bromley side four points clear at the top of the table.

The hosts had early attempts through midfielder Ali Fuseini who volleyed just wide, and towering centre-back Rob Swaine headed wide from a corner.

At the other end, striker Jordan Robertson had a shot deflected wide and a Jamie Hand effort flew off target for the visitors.

Bromley went close again as Moses Ademola bent a shot just over the bar from 20 yards out and Jamie Slabber had a header saved by Magnus Norman after good build up play by full-back Ugo Udoji.

With just four minutes until half time, the Bromley defence played a long ball up the field to Ademola on the edge of the box, who controlled well before turning Siaw and sliding the ball past Norman. Bromley 1-0 Farnborough.

Just minutes from the re-start, former Lilywhite Harry Grant drew a fantastic save from Alan Julian who pushed away the midfielder’s powerful left-footed drive.

Half Time: Bromley 1-0 Farnborough

Farnborough created the first chance of the second half but Grant headed just wide.

Bromley doubled their lead right on the hour. Louis Dennis dribbled the ball down the left and was brought down on the bye line. From the resulting free kick Slabber headed the ball towards goal and former Farnborough loanee Jack Holland rose high above the visiting defence to power a header past Norman. Bromley 2-0 Farnborough.

Bromley made the first change of the game a minute later with a like-for-like swap as centre-midfielder Danny Waldren replaced Ali Fuseini.

The lively Bradley Goldberg fired wide soon after, but on 67 minutes Ademola flicked the ball on from a Udoji free kick to Slabber who headed home at the far post. Bromley 3-0 Farnborough.

Just two minutes later, Slabber netted his second goal of the evening as he latched on to a Reece Prestedge pass and rifled the ball past Norman from ten yards. Bromley 4-0 Farnborough.

On 74 minutes, both sides made changes as Bromley brought on Louis Dennis for Mitch Pinnock on the wing, and Farnborough replaced Jordan Robertson and the cautioned Jamie Hand with Louie Theophanous and debuting Oxford United loanee Josh Shama.

Two minutes later, Stéphane Ngamvoulou, making his second appearance in a Farnborough shirt after signing last week, came on for winger Dan Bennett.

Jamie Slabber, scorer of two second half Bromley goals in just a few minutes, was replaced by former Dover Athletic and Gillingham striker Adam Birchall on 78 minutes.

Minutes later, Harry Grant squared the ball to substitute Stéphane Ngamvoulou just inside the Bromley box but the midfielder’s shot lacked enough power to beat Julian who scrambled across to block low to his left.

Five minutes from time, Bromley hit the visitors on the counter attack from a cleared corner as Darryl Siaw showed his inexperience with striker Goldberg holding the Farnborough defender off before knocking the ball round Norman. Bromley 5-0 Farnborough.

After three minutes of additional time, the Referee’s full time whistle blew to signify Farnborough’s 21st League defeat of the season.
