At Thursday’s Conference AGM, @FTFCACADEMY on Twitter caught up with Marc Wardley and put a few question to Farnborough’s new Academy Manager.
Marc Wardley, 40, is an UEFA A license coach and has previously been involved with Blackburn Rovers, Fulham and Aldershot Town before moving onto his first Academy Manager role at Farnborough.
Q: Wardley, what made you take the move from Aldershot to Farnborough?
MW – I moved to FFC as it was a chance to do it my way. The facilities over here are really good and [for] home games we get to play at the ground.
Q: Wardley, how have you found the first few months of being a Manager?
MW – The first few months have been really busy, I’ve been doing a lot of recruiting and getting out watching tournaments and doing trials.

Q: Wardley, how is your squad shaping ahead of the start of pre season next week?
MW – Our squad is shaping up slowly, it’s important we get the right players in that will work hard both on the pitch and in the classroom.
Q: Wardley, what are your hopes for the upcoming season?
MW – To do a lot better than Farnborough Academy did last season, I hope to push some lads for the 1st team.
Q: Wardley, what are you most looking forward to next season?
MW – It’s exciting to be at a new club going into the new season, I’m really looking forward in trying to make my mark within the Academy.
And if you’re aged 16-18, you can be part of Marc’s future by participating in this Saturday’s trial – book on here: http://knightsgroupsports.co.uk/events/farnborough-trials/
