This Saturday, 22nd placed Farnborough make the long journey to League leaders Leiston in the Ryman League Premier Division, kick off 3pm.
Three consecutive defeats from three League games this month have left Farnborough rooted to the relegation spots in 22nd place.
It doesn’t get any harder for Spencer Day’s side, as they travel to Victory Road to take on the League leaders, Leiston.
Cheltenham Town loanee and top scorer, Bobbie Dale was added to the injury list last week and is a doubt for the Saturday’s away trip.
However, Day added a trio of Players to the Squad at the start of the week – with full-back Freddie Grant returning on a one month loan deal from Oxford United. Last Season’s fans favourite was joined by experienced duo Keith Emmerson and Glen Southam.
Speaking to GetHampshire after Tuesday evening’s 4-1 defeat at Bognor Regis Town, Manager Spencer Day said: “We were the better team in the first half but missed so many chances. But while our midfield and forward units were eight out of ten we were about three out of ten in defence.
“We just weren’t good enough on the night and Bognor were ruthless enough to work out our players who were struggling.
“These are tough times, I know, but there were positive signs and the dressing room remains in high spirits. We’ll go again and hopefully we a little bit more luck something will turn for us.”
On the latest Squad changes, Day explained: “Our injury list is unbelievable but as replacements go I’d say we’ve done better than expected.
“Keith [Emmerson] and Glen [Southam] are both experienced performers and join us on a game-by-game basis, while young Freddie is already a popular member of the club and gives us plenty of options on either side. We’ve had no choice but to act, but I’m delighted to have these guys on board.”
Farnborough last time out: Joe Tupper (gk), Marc Ethelston, CJ Fearn (Capt), Perry Ryan, Ed Sanders, Matt Bevans, Freddie Grant, Glen Southam, Tommy Wright, Harry Williams, Keith Emmerson, Jack Barton, Lewis Collins and Dean Joseph-Whittingham.
Opponents Leiston, who are managed by Richard Wilkins, sit top of the Ryman League Premier Division with an impressive 29 points from 14 games.
Last time out however, the Blues lost 0-3 at Home to East Thurrock United, conceding three second half goals all scored by Sam Higgins.
Following Tuesday evenings Home defeat, Manager Richard Wilkins told www.leistonfc.co.uk: “We will be certainly be looking to bounce back after Wednesday’s defensive nightmare.
“We still have a few players out but having Stuart Boardley and Blake Saker back will help the back four while Christy Finch should also feature.
“We gifted, literally gifted, East Thurrock all their goals on Wednesday night and individual errors cost us dearly. Although we were far from great we should have come away with a point and in the circumstances that would have been a very good point.
“East Thurrock certainly have a hold on us lately, that’s four wins in the last four games against us. We need to return to a solid defensive unit but also require more guile and better decision making in the offensive department.”
Leiston (last time out): Ashlee Jones (gk), Josh Meritt, Seb Dunbar, Daniel Cunningham, Leon Ottley-Gooch, Tom Bullard, Joe Francis, Gareth Heath, Tom Winter, John Sands, Patrick Brothers, Jake Taylor, Kelsey Trotter, Adam Horner and Alex Rossis.
