It’s Santa Saturday this weekend as Farnborough welcome 19th placed Leatherhead to The Rushmoor Community Stadium in the Ryman League Premier Division, kick off 3pm.
The Yellows are currently enjoying a four game unbeaten run on Home turf having picked up 10 points from a possible 12, only dropping points against an in-form Needham Market.
On Monday evening, Farnborough recorded their fourth Home win from five matches, with a 2-1 victory over Harrow Borough courtesy of first half goals from Jamie White and Nicholas Brown.
Last time the two sides met, Farnborough ran out 5-2 winners in a Mid-Season Friendly at Fetcham Grove.
Speaking to GetHampshire after Mondays 2-1 Home win, Manager Spencer Day said: “These last two games [Brentwood and Harrow] would determine whether it would be an easier job or a very tough job and four points out of six gives us a little bit of room.
“Leatherhead [at home on Saturday] have a new manager and will be a tough game. We’re on a very good run at the moment but we need to be able to keep moving forward and being realistic.
“Winning breeds confidence and when you are as young as us, that is vital.
Day admitted: “We were awful for 25 minutes and it was very harsh on Ryan [Zidyana] to be taken off. I could have pulled eight of them off.
“Sometimes they go for you, sometimes they don’t and that one did. From then on we were the better side by some distance and how we haven’t scored a third or a fourth I’ll never know.”
Farnborough last time out (vs Harrow Borough): Aaron Bufton (gk), Freddie Grant, Tom Broadbent, CJ Fearn (Capt), Gary MacDonald, Darryl Siaw, Andrew Jenkinson; Lewis Collins, Bogdan Vastsuk, Jamie White, Ryan Zidyana, Hussein Mohammed, Dean Joseph-Whittingham, John Oyenuga, Jack Barton and Nicholas Brown.
Nicholas Brown’s third goal of the Season proved to be the winner on Monday evening
Leatherhead, are managed by Mike Sandmann and currently occupy 19th place in the Ryman League Premier Division with 25 points from 22 games.
The Tanners were last in action last Saturday, suffering their eleventh League defeat of the Season, loosing 1-2 at Home to Harrow Borough, despite taking an early lead through Keirnan Hughes-Mason.
On 4th December, Leatherhead Chairman Peter Ashdown issued a Club Statement announcing that Manager Richard Brady has moved to ‘Head of Football Development’, with previous Assistant Manager Mike Sandmann taking the First Team reigns.
Towards the end of this week, Leatherhead announced that top scorer with 13 goals, Vasieleious Karagiannis has transferred to to National League South side Maidstone United.
