This Bank Holiday Monday (31 August), Farnborough look to continue their impressive start to the Ryman Premier League Division Season at The Green Elephants Stadium against Burgess Hill Town, kick off 3pm.
Farnborough started their Ryman Premier League Division Season in impressive style at the weekend, cruising to a 5-1 victory over Lewes at The Rushmoor Community Stadium.
Cheltenham Town loanees Harry Williams and Bobbie Dale bagged five goals between them and will be looking to add to their respective tally’s on Monday.
Speaking after Saturday’s 5-1 victory, Manager Spencer Day said: “We’re just pleased to play football. It’s obviously been a long Summer and the guys in the dressing room were desperate to play football. That’s what we are, we’re a football club.
“We’re ecstatic to get the first win. I don’t think we played well at all. [I] don’t think we’ve performed at the standards we’ve set in the last two or three weeks.
“They’re quite disappointed in there, which shows how far we’ve come in the last two/three weeks. We’ll take the positives that we’ve won the game without playing particularly well.
Day explained: “There were a lot of nerves going on today I think and we didn’t really stick to the game plan as much as I would like but it’s the first day. The players have been through a lot as well, people forget about them.
“They were desperate to play and it’s a good marker for us to say: look we’ve won the game comfortably without playing at the high standards we can jump to. Hopefully that’s something we can improve as the Season goes on.”
