Farnborough’s attentions turn to the FA Trophy this weekend as Spencer Day’s side make the long journey to Bideford, kick off 3pm.

Farnborough travel to The Sports Ground to take on Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division side Bideford in the FA Trophy First Round Qualifying.

On Tuesday evening, the Yellows went down 3-1 at Harrow Borough in the Ryman League Premier Division, with Midfielder Nicholas Brown netting scoring an impressive solo goal.

Recent work experience signing from Sky Bet Championship side Reading, Bogdan Vastsuk started at Harrow Borough on Tuesday evening.

Speaking to GetHampshire ahead of Saturday’s FA Trophy tie, Manager Spencer Day admitted: “We’ve got a real struggle on Saturday, personnel-wise, which is something we are going to have to address.

“We don’t have any excuses because it’s five hours each way and I don’t want to travel five hours each way just to get beat again.

“We’ve got a put a team out but, don’t get me wrong, a lot of them [players] will be back for Hendon on Tuesday, it just so happens that we have a problem on Saturday and, Sod’s law, it’s the FA Trophy.”

Opponents Bideford are currently managed by Sean Joyce and sit 22nd in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.

Last time out, a late Billy Tucker Penalty rescued a point for the Robins in a 1-1 Home draw with Frome Town.

Bideford went out at the 2nd Qualfying Round of the FA Trophy last Season, losing a Replay 2-1 at Didcot Town.

Speaking to North Devon Journal after his sides 1-1 Home draw with Frome Town, Manager Sean Joyce said: “In the first half we dropped off because we were tired but, because we were tired, it caused us more and more work.

“In the second half, we got in and around them and that is what we are good at. I thought for the last 25 minutes – apart from their set-pieces – we looked like the only team going to win it.”
