Spencer Day’s Farnborough side are in FA Trophy action this Saturday when they make the second trip to Weston-Super-Mare in the space of five days.

Farnborough narrowly lost 4-3 at The Woodspring Stadium on Tuesday evening and will be looking to claim revenge with victory in the FA Trophy this weekend.

Speaking after Tuesday’s defeat, Manager Spencer Day told GetHampshire, “There were two absolute Christmas gifts. That’s five in two games now.

“We were totally dominant at 2-1 down and at 3-2 up and there was only one winner, but we just stepped off and stopped doing the things that were getting us success and in the end two defensive errors have killed us.

“It just goes to show how quickly this game can turn on its head but it’s two bad games. Saturday, there’s no excuse for, but on Tuesday night we played some fantastic football at times. People have short memories.”

Ryan Northmore’s Weston-Super-Mare side beat Bedford Town to make it to the FA Trophy First Round Proper. The Seagulls needed a Replay and extra-time to overcome Bedford Town 2-1 on 2nd December.

Goals from current England C International Dayle Grubb, Jacob Cane and a brace from Bradley Ash saw Weston-Super-Mare earn three points against Farnborough on Tuesday evening. Those valuable three points lifted them off bottom spot in the League Table and up to 20th place.
