Spencer Day’s new look Farnborough side make the short trip to Combined Counties neighbours Sandhurst Town on Saturday 4 July (tomorrow) in their first official pre-season friendly match of the summer.
The first friendly of the summer kicks off this Saturday where a number of trialists and youth team players will be looking to make their mark as Farnborough take on Chris Powell’s new-look Fizzers at Bottom Meadow.
The Conference South fixtures were released at 3pm on Friday 4 July and revealed that Spencer Day’s side will be working towards a tough away fixture against Boreham Wood on Saturday 9 August.
Summarising pre-season so far, Spencer Day told Get Hampshire news, “It’s very early days but some have really impressed this week. We had a double training session to kick us off on Saturday and a very tough training session on Tuesday night, but even though it’s been 90 per cent running so far you can see that some [trialists] are very interesting.”
Day added, “These are good training games for us. We’ll be playing two different teams for both games and those not playing will be training.
“It’s very early days but Saturday is a good opportunity for Farnborough fans to take a look at what is a very young group of players, while giving Sandhurst a bit of support at the same time.”
