Farnborough wrap up their pre-season campaign six days before the start of the season with the visit of Sky Bet League One side Leyton Orient.

In their last outing on Saturday, Spencer Day’s Farnborough side won 1-0 at Walton & Hersham whilst resting a handful of key players. Those players – Paul Rodgers, Darryl Siaw, Matt Ball, Joe Taylor and Phil Page – are all expected to return to the squad to gain valuable match time leading up to the big kick off at Boreham Wood next Saturday.

The hosts will also have goalkeeper Charlie Grainger eligible to face his parent club. On Friday, Grainger told www.farnboroughfc.co.uk, “I am looking forward to both games and hopefully we can continue our winning streak.

“Both games [against Walton & Hersham and Leyton Orient] are going to be a test which we need going into the start of the season next week! I am looking forward to playing against my own club, it will be strange playing against the people I train with everyday! But will be a game that will be a tough test and one that I’m going to enjoy playing in.”

Management duo Spencer & Leigh are given food for thought on Saturday

Visitors Leyton Orient are managed by Russell Slade and finished 3rd in League One last season making it all the way to the 2013/14 play-off final but The O’s were beaten 4-3 on penalties by Rotherham United. The O’s will be determined to go one further this season and preparations for another campaign have been sucessful as they managed to go the whole pre-season unbeaten, including a 2-2 home draw with newly promoted Premier League side Queens Park Rangers.

Former Farnborough loanee Harry Lee is expected to feature for the visiting Orient side. The young midfielder has made the step up to the first team this pre-season after signing a new contract in March 2014 to stay at The Matchroom Stadium.
