Vanarama Conference South action returns to Paddy Power Park this Saturday as title contenders Ebbsfleet United are in town.

After two weeks, Vanarama Conference South football is back tomorrow as 10th place Farnborough host Steve Brown’s Ebbsfleet United side.

Farnborough were knocked out of this years FA Cup competition following a 1-0 home defeat to Brackley Town in a replay on Monday. Before the short break, Boro’ came from behind to win 2-1 at Staines Town and 3 points tomorrow could see the hosts rise as high as 8th place.

Speaking after Monday’s 1-0 home defeat to Brackley Town, Farnborough Manager Spencer Day said, “I hope the players are hurting as much as I am, I’m sorry for our fans. Ebbsfleet next, where do you start with them? The quality they’ve got left, right and centre, followed by Sutton.

“There’s going to have to be some changes, I’m not afraid, I’ve sold Paul Rodgers [which] was a very good deal for the Club and I’m not afraid to make more changes because lets face it, we’ve got to play Ebbsfleet [this] who are scoring goals for fun and red hot favourites to win the league and they’ve got 23 professional players on their books. If we turn up like that then we’ll get murdered and that’s no disrespect to Brackley who came with a game plan.

“We didn’t stick to our game plan [against Brackley] and I’m gutted for our fans and apologising to our fans, we just didn’t show enough quality. We’ve got to have more grit, more quality than that to get through this season.

Academy product CJ Fearn returned to the starting line-up on Monday

Visitors Ebbsfleet United are Vanarama Conference South title favorites and currently sit 5th in the league. Last time out, Ebbsfleet comfortably progressed to the next round of the FA Cup with a 7-1 home win over Hythe Town.

Speaking to Gravesend Messenger ahead of the game, Fleet boss Steve Brown said, “It would be nice to push ourselves on and get another win and start pressurising the guys at the top.

“It’s great that we’re winning games and scoring goals. It’s good for confidence. There’s just something about us in the last couple of weeks, where not only have we looked solid but we’ve been scoring goals.

“It’s all starting to gel nicely but we can’t forget that’s only one part of football. The other part is making sure we are prepared and in the right place physically to get these results.”
