With a week now left until their next Vanarama Conference South Fixture, Spencer Day takes his side to Dulwich Hamlet on Sunday (tomorrow) for a Mid-Season Friendly.

Recent signing Louie Theophanous scored Farnborough’s first goal in four competitive games last time out in a 4-1 home defeat to Gosport Borough and the visitors will look to build on this heading into two back-to-back away games next weekend.

Farnborough will have new loan defender from Peterborough United, Michael Richens in the squad, while Spencer Day also hopes that goalkeeper Charlie Grainger will return from Leyton Orient.

Speaking after last Saturday’s 4-1 home defeat, Farnborough boss Spencer Day this week told News & Mail, “I am a lot happier than I was two weeks ago. “All the new boys did well on their first starts and we played some of our best football for a while before we gave away an absolutely kamikaze goal which has changed the game.

Day added, “For 35 minutes we were the better team, playing the better football and creating more chances. But two defensive howlers have left us on the back foot and Gosport are a very difficult side to break down.”

“But Rome wasn’t built in a day and I think we are going to need six or seven games to bed in. Of course we all hoped for an immediate response but it wasn’t to be. However, there were a lot of positives to take.”
