Player Update

Farnborough Football Club can announce that Joe Benjamin has mutually agreed to terminate his contract. We thank Joe for his services and wish him the very best in the future.

A long-term loan deal has been agreed with Leyton Orient for goalkeeper Charlie Grainger. Charlie has featured four times this pre-season and will be eligible to play for Farnborough in a pre-season friendly against his parent club Leyton Orient which takes place at Paddy Power Park this Monday 4 August (KO 7.45pm).

Charlie is a graduate of the Orient Under 18s side who recently signed a professional contract with The O’s. Goalkeeper Grainger has been on the bench for the first team a number of times in the last two seasons, whilst he also made his debut for England U18s earlier this year.

Former loanee Matt Ball has agreed terms and is set to sign tonight following his departure from Stevenage FC at the end of the 2013/14 season. Ball has been present for Farnborough in every pre-season friendly this summer, even managing to score twice from midfield.

The former Northern Ireland U21 international has previously had two loan spells with Farnborough from Stevenage FC, a month loan in February 2013 where he netted once, and the latest starting from 31st January 2014 and lasting until the end of the 2013/14 season.

We can also announce that midfielder Josh Webb has signed following impressive performances throughout pre-season.

Some of Webb’s previous club include Championship club Reading, Hayes & Yeading and Burnham.

More players are expected to sign this weekend so please keep a close eye on the official website.
