Farnborough confirmed the signing of powerful forward Connor French from Ryman Division One South club Walton Casuals on Thursday. farnboroughfc.co.uk caught up with our new 21-year-old forward for an exclusive Interview.

Hi Connor and welcome to Farnborough! Thank you for taking time to talk to the Club’s Official website.

Firstly, how long have you signed with Farnborough?

CF: Signed officially tonight [Thursday] and for the remainder of the season and probably next season but will see how things go.

What is your first impression of Farnborough and the Stadium?

CF: Haven’t yet been to the stadium yet but from what I’ve heard it’s a very nice ground, I’ll shall find out on Saturday and I’ve heard good things about Farnborough and the things they’re trying to do down here impressed me.

Is your signing for Farnborough a big step forward in your career?

CF: It’s a step in the right direction, I know I’m good enough to play at this level and now I’ve just got to show everyone else that I can!

How did the move come to Farnborough come about?

CF: I played against them [Farnborough] in a friendly when I was at Walton, I played and scored maybe that made their mind up on me.

What will you bring to Farnborough?

CF: First and foremost. Need to bring my goals and something different upfront. I like to hold up play and bring midfielders and wide players in to the game! I feel I can offer them an outlet when going forward and keep possession for us.

What are your aims for the rest of the season with Farnborough? Any Personal Goals?

CF: To keep them up as they are quite near the bottom but the league is very tight so every game counts now. Personal goals will have to be to score or assist as many goals as possible from now to the end of the season!

How well do you think you will adapt easily to Farnborough’s style of play and the higher level?

CF: Farnborough play how Millwall played when I was a scholar there so it’s nothing new to me on their style of play, I’m not worried about playing at this level, I know I’m good enough just need to show everyone else that hasn’t seen me play yet.

Do you see yourself playing at a higher level in the future?

CF: Yes that is my plan to play at a higher level but we will have to wait and see what happens at Farnborough first.

Are you looking forward to your ‘Boro debut and how would you assess the coming game against a high flying Eastleigh side?

CF: Yes definitely looking forward to my debut whether it be from the bench or starting – very exciting! I know Eastleigh are a good side but I’ve seen so much high quality at Farnborough already and I’m certain if we defend properly and link up properly in the final third we will win the game.

Favourite football team and footballer?

CF: Favourite team in any league at the moment must probably have to be Liverpool at the moment (lol) I’m sure I’ll change my mind once they lose a game so ask me again next week! Favourite player – either Rooney or Drogba.

And finally, do you have a message to the Farnborough fans going into the last few hectic months of the season?

CF: Just to get behind the team and help us stay in the Conference South! And get as high as possible which will happen I’m sure.
