Third placed Sutton United are the opposition for Farnborough on Saturday afternoon as they will need to bounce back from what manager Spencer Day labelled Boro’s ‘worst home performance of the season’, 40 odd hours on, from Thursday’s defeat. (Skrill South League Fixture – Kick off 3pm)

Don’t forget:

‘Boro Camp

Back-to-back 3-0 defeats have seen Boro go two games without a goal and will need to replicate the performance shown at Hayes & Yeading just under two weeks ago to stop the rot and kick-start March with a positive result.

A win for ‘Boro would see them reach 36 points and start to stretch away from Chelmsford in 15th and the teams below scraping for points.

Farnborough manager Spencer Day was optimistic about Saturday’s visit of the form side in the division, in Sutton: “We are playing good sides at the moment but we’re much better than that. Only this time last week everyone was raving about a fantastic performance and a week later we were really terrible and I’m angry and disappointed and there will definitely be changes for Saturday, and there will have to be because Sutton, I saw them on Tuesday night and they were exceptional, big and strong and it’s going to be a massively tough ask but let’s see what the character is in the dressing room.

“They’re (Sutton) the form side in the division, he’s (Paul Doswell) is the manager of the month, they’ve got a fabulous squad, but he hasn’t seen us tonight. We will have to be up to the level of performance we were at Hayes, to have any chance. Sutton are a very big side, very strong, a lot of experience and we’ve just got to be a lot better.

You’ve just got to take the games, in some respects you’ve got to look forwards to the fact you’ve got to play two of the three best sides in the division next, Sutton and Bromley – two massive games, (we are) massively underdogs, not expected to get anything from them but we have upset the odds at this Football Club while I’ve been here in the last two and a bit years, on numerous occasions and we’ve got to try and do it again and we’ll be positive about it and it’s the best we can take out of tonight. Terrible night on the pitch, and off the pitch with the attendance and we’ve got to bounce back and try and get something against the form side in the division.

Opposition Camp

Sutton are the second highest goalscorers in the division (52 goals from 29 games) and are flying high in 3rd place but trail League leaders Bromley by 10 points. Of their 15 games on the road so far this season, Sutton have won 6; drawn 6 and lost 3. A Sutton win would see them remain in 3rd place stretching away from 3rd placed Ebbsfleet and hopefully closer to Eastleigh in second.

The last time the two sides met was in the League, at Gander Green Lane when the two sides shared the spoils in a six goal thriller back in October.

One to watch: Jamie Slabber – 12 goals
