‘Boro finally kick off 2014 this Saturday, with Staines Town the visitors to PaddyPower Park, in what will be the third meeting between the two sides this season (Skrill South League Fixture – Kick off 3.00pm).

‘Boro Camp (UPDATED*)

After numerous fixtures over the past couple weeks have fallen victim to the weather, Spencer Day’s men will be looking to start a run of games, which sees them play a relentless 13 fixtures over 7 weeks, with a very welcome 3 points.

Of the nine home games so far this season, ‘Boro have won 6; drawn once and lost only twice. Last time out, Boro halted a run of form that saw them suffer four consecutive defeats by salvaging a point in a 2-2 draw against Havant & Waterlooville. A win for ‘Boro could see them rise to 14th, and draw them further away from the dreaded relegation zone.

Nathan Koo-Boothe, Tyrone Berry and Reading duo Dan Lincoln and Jack Jeffrey will all be looking to keep their places in the ‘Boro starting XI that took to the field against Havant & Waterlooville last time out. Spaniard Alfred Bosch should return in time to make the matchday squad, and forward Moses Ashikodi is also expected to make his full ‘Boro debut.

‘Boro will be without Adam Doyle, who serves the third and final part of his three match ban and Steve Laidler, who serves the first of his two match ban after accumulating 10 bookings. Cheltenham Town loanie Harry Williams has been returned to the Robbins, and is expected to travel with the first team squad which visit Burton Albion on Saturday. Goalkeeper Kevin Scriven remains a doubt for Boro but is making a slow recovery from Injury.

Opposition Camp

Staines have certainly found it tough on the road so far this season; Marcus Gayle’s Swans haven’t won from any of their 11 away trips but have drawn twice and lost 9, they find themselves only two points of the play off zone, occupying 8th position. The Swans are currently on a three match unbeaten run, which includes Tuesday’s 3-3 draw at Whitehawk, which saw the Leagues top scorers Louie Theophanous add to his impressive tally.

Last week, Staines bolstered their squad with the signing of vastly experienced and much travelled forward Calum Willock from Boreham Wood, after a short stint at Harrow Borough.

Previewing the game, Marcus Gayle told getsurrey: “It’s important not to lose the next three games and hopefully win them, and Calum’s experience in holding up the play in key areas of the pitch will help us, especially away from home when he can relieve the pressure.”

One to watch: Louie Theophanous – 10 goals
