After Saturday’s postponement, ‘Boro’s attentions turn to the Quarter-Finals of the Russell Cotes Cup as they make the short journey to The Silverlake Arena to play Sholing this Tuesday.
(Russell Cotes Cup sponsored by Harold G Walker Quarter-Final, Tie #20 – Kick off 7.45pm)
Winners face an away trip to either AFC Portchester or AFC Totton in Semi Finals.
‘Boro’s Russell Cotes Cup run so far:
2nd Round: Farnborough 4-0 Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
Ahead of the game, ‘Boro boss Spencer Day confirmed that a few squad and academy players will get an opportunity: “We are due to face Sholing in the Russell Coates Cup [away on Tuesday] and will field a mixed team of 1st teamers, squad players and academy. That will be a big test as they (did!) sit at the top of their league having won 20 out of 22 league games and are unbeaten and their only cup loss game in a tight game I understand against a full strength Havant side.”
“Then back in the League we face another six pointer against Whitehawk next Saturday down in Brighton so it’s a massive month.”
Sholing’s Russell Cotes Cup run so far:
1st Round: Lymington Town 1-3 Sholing
2nd Round: Sholing 3-2 Newport (IOW).
