Saturday afternoon will see Farnborough play their final fixture of the Skrill South campaign when they entertain 10th placed Eastbourne Borough at Paddy Power Park.

(Skrill South League Fixture – Kick off 3pm)

Don’t forget:

Farnborough Camp

Last Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Maidenhead United secured Farnborough’s Conference South status for next season, but Farnborough will be eager to break the 50 point barrier, which they are currently one point adrift of with one game of the season remaining.

Farnborough head into the game sixteenth in the table, six places below the visitors Eastbourne by eight points. Of their 20 home games played so far this season, Farnborough have won 11, drawn once and lost 8.

There should be a lively atmosphere in store as the Farnborough go in search of their sixteenth victory of the season and will want to end the home season on a high to crown another impressive consolidation season.

Ahead of the final game of the season, manager Spencer Day “I was never seriously concerned [about possible relegation] but that doesn’t take away the achievement of these young men. Personally, I think we’re way too good to be hovering in and around the bottom three, but yes of course it’s always a relief to finally get over the line.

“Now we can start putting plans in place for next season. It’s not exactly been a phenomenal season from a playing point of view but it does matter when you put things into perspective and all credit goes to these youngsters and loanees who have helped steady the ship and done a job for me.

“This squad of players, in my time here, has never been more dedicated to doing what we as coaches want them to do and they’ve been a joy to work with. We have a number of players running on empty and a number that probably shouldn’t have been playing. We’re absolutely bare bones, only two subs, and incredibly young still so I’m proud of all their efforts.”

Captain Alan Inns returns from suspension and is available for selection for the hosts after completing a three match ban, while young defender Darryl Siaw is expected to sit out due to a knee injury.

Opposition Camp

On the road this season, of their 20 away games played this season, Eastbourne have won 6, drawn 4 and lost 10.

Eastbourne go into the game in 10th place with only pride to play for, but three points on Saturday would confirm a place in the top ten for The Sports.

Eastbourne will be without midfielder Sam Cole through suspension and forward Chris Shephard is a doubt through injury.

One to watch: Simon Johnson – 9 goals

In the reverse fixture in the League, Eastbourne managed their second victory over Farnborough of the season, winning 5-2 at Priory Lane back in October, but Eastbourne will be determined for the three points to enable them to secure a top ten finish.
