‘Boro finally kick off 2014 this Saturday (tomorrow), as they visit underachievers Boreham Wood in the Skrill South.
Skrill South League Fixture – Kick off 3pm.
Please keep a close eye on the Official Website, Fans Forum and Social Media sites for latest updates concerning the fixture.
On their travels so far this season, ‘Boro have won once; drawn twice and lost eight, so will be looking to start an unbeaten run as they look to climb the table.
Of the eleven away trips so far this season, ‘Boro have won once; drawn twice and lost 6, so 3 points will be a priority for Spencer Day’s men. After halting a run of form that saw them suffer four consecutive defeats; a win for ‘Boro could see them rise to 14th, and draw them away from the dreaded relegation zone.
Nathan Koo-Boothe, Tyrone Berry and Reading duo Dan Lincoln and Jack Jeffrey will all be looking to keep their places in the ‘Boro starting XI that salvaged a point in a 2-2 draw against Havant & Waterlooville last Saturday.
Forward Moses Ashikodi is also expected to make his ‘Boro debut after signing registration forms on Tuesday.
‘Boro will still be without goalkeepers Kevin Scriven and Matt Lovett who remain ruled out through Injury, and Adam Doyle serves the third and final part of his three match ban due to the postponement of Wednesday’s fixture.
The Wood’s home form has let them down so far this season, of their 10 home League games, Boreham Wood have won once; drawn 4 and lost 5. That win came all the way back in September, triumphing 2-0 over lowly placed Gosport Borough. Last time out, Boreham Wood picked up 3 points in a 3-1 away win at Bishops Stortford, which saw the away side end the game with 9 men.
Ian Allinson’s side will be fresh from their win at Bishops Stortford; after their New Year’s Day fixture at Concord Rangers unsurprisingly fell victim to the weather. With only Ebbsfleet’s home fixture against the League leaders, Bromley managing to survive the weather.
Along with Maidenhead United &Tonbridge Angels on 21 points; Boreham Wood lie a dangerous 3 points away from the relegation zone in 17th place, despite having played a few games more than the teams around them.
One to watch: Anthony Jeffrey – 4 goals
The last time the two sides met was back in September, when ‘Boro’s Scott Donnelly bagged a brace in a 2-0 win, including a free-kick from 30 yards out.
