Farnborough Football Club is delighted to announce the signings of Joe Benjamin, Paul Rodgers, Joe Taylor and Arron Hopkinson ahead of the 2014/15 Conference South season.
Cousins, lively forward Joe Benjamin (23) and versatile defender Paul Rodgers (24) have signed for the 2014/15 season having both spent the majority of last season with Billericay Town.
Upon signing, Benjamin said, “Me and Paul [Rodgers] were at Billiercay last season and I jumped at the opportunity to join Farnborough. The stadium is beautiful, the pitch is going to be good and the team did very well last season and there are a hungry young group of players here so I can’t wait to get going.”
The 6 foot-tall Rodgers added, “It’s been a long wait for me and Joe [Benjamin] as there have been a few unsuccessful things that haven’t worked out for us but I’m happy to be at the Club. I have been together at five Clubs with Joe and hope we can add experience to the team. I’m really looking forwards to a successful season.”
Partnering Phil Page and Joe Benjamin up-front will be young forward Joe Taylor, who joins from Sittingbourne where he scored an impressive 27 goals in the Ryman South last term.
21 year-old winger Arron Hopkinson joins the Yellow of Farnborough from Bognor Regis Town, where he managed six goals in the Ryman Premier last season. The former Bath City, Mangotsfield, Hastings and Lewes wide man is looking to make the step up to Conference South after the Rocks failed in their promotion bid last term.
