Farnborough FC in the Community Website Launched

Farnborough Football Club is pleased to announce the launch of ‘Farnborough FC in The Community’ new website – http://farnboroughfcinthecommunity.co.uk/  which sits alongside the FaceBook Page www.facebook.com/pages/Farnborough-FC-in-the-Community

Farnborough FC in The Community works in serving the local community to empower individuals, families, and children to improve their lives and their environment, using the power of football. It aims to do this by supporting a number of different workstreams;

  1. Faith in Football

    to serve the local communities by helping young people and their families, be positive role models and help make a real difference

  2. Schools

    Split into 3 sub sections
    i) – Reading Stars Reading Scheme – working alongside Literacy Trust, Premier League & with support from Rushmoor Borough Council in bringing this established Reading scheme to the local community of Farnborough.
    ii) – School of the Week – extending the scheme from last year by engaging the local schools and introducing them to the football club
    iii) Extra Time Homework Club – details to be provided

  3. Farnborough in the local community

    As well as extending the School of the Week, we are looking at
    – The Farnborough Falcons, the clubs new cheerleading group (auditions Sunday 27th July)
    – Mighty Yellow Supporters Club – Season Tickets for 5-15 year olds, which not only includes free entry to watch Farnorough Play, but a package of goodies & opportunities not available to others. All for £25.
    – Junior Cup, our 1st inter-schools football competition successfully held this month.

Headed by Mark McGowan (The club’s Chaplain), who explained

“The excellent programmes are delivered through presence in schools and working with disadvantaged or socially excluded groups in society, through crime reduction initiatives and community based football coaching sessions. The types of programmes delivered by FFCITC fit under four key aims: raising educational achievement, encouraging healthier lifestyles, bringing communities together and mentoring and serving the local community through different actions. We also want to teach moral lifestyle through various activities.”
