It is with great sadness that Farnborough Football Club announce the passing on Monday of former player Adie Hayes.

The Club were saddened to receive the following from his sister Amanda Vincent:

‘I’m am writing to you to advise of the sad passing of my brother Adie Hayes at the tender age of 36. He joined Farnborough from Cambridge City in 2003/04 season. Playing football was all he dreamt of doing and remained his passion through his short life. He fought a brain tumour courageously but lost his battle on Monday.

I wanted to thank the club for giving him the opportunities he had, he loved his time with Farnborough and made many friends. My family and I are spending time smiling and crying through the many press cuttings and programmes we have during his footballing career. He leaves a wife and two daughters.

Regards
Amanda Vincent’

Adie made a total of 42 appearances for the Club scoring 3 times during his spell with ‘Boro.

A minutes silence will be observed at our match against Basingstoke Town on Monday 25th August.

RIP Adie.
