With registrations for the league not being permitted after 5pm this evening their has been some last minute movements within the ‘Boro squad.
Striker Reece Connolly who became the clubs record signing when joining on a permanent basis from Aldershot Town in December, following a number of succesful loan appearances, has joined Blue Square Premieclub Forest Green Rovers on loan with a view to a permanent move.
Forest Green currently occupy 6th placed in the table will be hoping to secure a play off position over the last month of the campaign.
Spencer Day commented ” Forest Green have been watching Reece over a number of weeks now, this is a great opportunity for Reece to possibly return to full time football permanently, and we had discussions regarding this when he agreed to join the club just before Christmas, I am not a manager who would stand in the way of a player progressing his career, although I would catergorically state that Reece remains in my long term plans and only an arrangement which benefits both the player and Farnborough would be considered to allow him to leave Cherrywood Road.”
Day has also secured the services of defender Tom McGarry on a dual registration from his former club Chertsey Town, he added “Tom is a familiar face around Farnborough having played during the “Town” years under Frank Gray. I am taking an opportunity to bring in players now to look at them ahead of next season, if you like commencing our pre season early.”
Dave Tarpey has followed suit of Alan Inns, Steve Laidler and Olly Treacher by extending his contract at the club until the end of next season.
Day stated “I really can only echo what I said earlier in the week, I am pleased to have secured Tarps for another season, and it is important that as a club we maintain a level of continuity into next year. There will be some restructuring of the operation over the summer and it is important that we enter the season with a solid base to work from.”
At the time of writing and with the clock ticking, Day & Steve Duly are working on further potential movements, which will be announced if they come to fruition.
