It’s the time of the Season where I am able to shuffle the pack a little. We’ve had a mixed first half and there are already a few comings and goings and I expect a few more before the end of January. With no money to play with I have had to make sacrifices to keep the Club on budget but to give me some room to add some bodies-
Dave Tarpey has had his contract terminated by mutual consent and I understand is returning to Hampton in the Ryman Premier. I have nothing but the highest regard for Dave and he has been here for 18 months and has always given 100%. He is seeking a fresh challenge and we wish him well. We paid a small fee for Tarps and this has been almost repaid by agreeing to this cancellation.
Moses Ashikodi arrives on an initial short term deal. A player with a high pedigree looking to get back to our level and prove himself.
Tyrone Berry and Nathan Koo-Boothe have re registered. Both were released earlier this season but have shown hunger to return as well as financial sacrifice. Both returned to the starting line up against Havant and impressed both on and off the pitch.
Adam Doyle has renegotiated new terms with the Club. Due to a successful off pitch career he is only available for certain games and combined with injuries this has led us to agreeing a ‘pay as you play’ deal that works for both parties. We certainly didn’t want to lose him and again we have shown that the Club will do what it takes to look after its financials first and foremost.
The month of January is the second busiest in the season and there will be further comings and goings announced in due course.
Happy New Year to all our supporters!
