On New Years day our intrepid runners and cyclists completed their challenge of making their way by foot and by bike to Basingstoke raising invaluable funds for the Kit Out The Kitchen campaign.

Departing at 10.45pm our cyclists Dave Workman and Paul Pullan arrived at The Camrose at 2.40pm followed 25 minutes later by the runners Dennis Cartwright and Rob Matheson.

It was a fantasic achievment by all four individuals and once again has shown the tremendous support we have in and around our club.

The run was measured at 22.27 miles and what is most impresive is that this took Dennis’ mileage for the week to over 60 miles, having competed in a couple of other races including a marathon in the days leading up to the event, for Rob it was a real personal achievment having only! run the distance of 15 miles in one hit previously.

The final sponsorship figure will be published once the monies have been collected, and behalf of the club we pass our sincere thanks to Dave, Paul, Dennis and Rob for their efforts.
