Farnborough Football Club can today confirm that further to its announcement last week it has served the pre-requisite 14 days’ notice to terminate the contract of Reece Connolly, without prejudice to its right to a transfer fee.

The club can also confirm that it has started County Court proceedings against the individual to recover the transfer fee and wages paid during the employment period for clear and serious, admitted breach of contract.

Since the individual provided a positive test, the club has also turned down lucrative offers for the player’s registration, the club not willing to accept any offers whilst the player was subject to the failing of the drugs test.

The club continues to liaise with the Football Association on this matter.
