Farnborough Football Club can confirm that following an internal drug test on a number of first team squad players last month, the samples submitted by Reece Connolly were positive, showing use of cocaine, marijuana and a third unconfirmed substance.
The player admitted to both members of the Management Team and the clubs Chief Executive at a disciplinary hearing that he had taken banned substances.
Once the club established the findings the player was immediately offered pastoral care and advice, and internally suspended from all footballing activities.
The club continue to take legal advice on this matter, and issue this statement in light of the facts being in the hands of the media who will be running this story imminently.
The club will not condone the use of drugs and will make no further comment at this time
