We apologise that despite speculation breaking on Social Media sites over an hour ago that this statement has only just been released.

The club learned an hour ago verbally from the Administrators solicitor that Farnborough FC’s first two matches of the season versus Chelmsford City scheduled to be played at Paddy Power Park tomorrow and away at Havant & Waterlooville scheduled for Monday had been postponed.

At the time of this statement, the club had still not received any notification from the Football Conference through the usual channels.

Over the past 72 hours numerous officials of the club have been working tirelessly on satisfying the requirements of the Football Conference with regards to the transfer of membership to the newco.

A deadline of 3pm was imposed to meet all criteria, all the requirements were satisfied with by this point with the exception of the transference of funds for the bond due to final sign off that was required to enable this to be sanctioned.

The Bond Document was only received in its initial draft late on Thursday afternoon despite completion of the sale on Monday and the club requesting this document from completion.

Despite assurances being given by the Administrators solicitor that  this would be satisfied soon after the deadline, the Football Conference would not be comforted by the evidence given by the solicitor showing very little flexibility.

We can confirm that instruction to release the funds and the mechanism to action this process occurred at 3.31pm.

We are staggered by this decision and wish to make no further comment at this time.

Please check the website this evening  for further updates.
