Farnborough unveiled their latest signing Richard Peniket; the 6ft 3 Wales under 21 player has joined ‘Boro from Premiership club Fulham.

‘Boro went into today’s game against relegation-threatened AFC Hornchurch looking to get back to winning ways but were guilty of  under performing, it what was an uneventful first 45 minutes.  Both teams cancelled out any threat on goal in a very even game, Matt Ball and Steve Laidler battled to find a footing in the middle of the park but the no nonsense style of play by Hornchurch denied any chance of much football to be played.

Half time saw the introduction of Dave Tarpey and new boy Richard Peniket in an attempt to find a way to take control but it was Hornchurch that opened the scoring on the 69th minute when Tuohy capitalised on a defensive mix up and firmly planted his effort past Ross Worner.

Peniket went close to scoring on 71 minutes but spurned a good opportunity when he turned six yards out and narrowly fired past the left post.  Peniket wasn’t going to be denied a second time the lively striker connected to a Daniel Bennett corner to stab home the equaliser.

Both sides went close to grabbing a winner but on reflection a draw was about the right result.

The next match for ‘Boro is away to Billericey Town on Tuesday 6th March, 7:45pm kick off.
