‘Boro boss Spencer Day indicated after the 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Welling United that there may be changes to the squad, and today the club can confirm two departures.
Phil Page is the first to depart, Page who signed for ‘Boro in November 2011 has made 32 appearances for the club scoring 10 goals and he was rewarded for his performances last season with the Managers Player of the Year award.
Ever increasing work commitments has made it difficult for Page to attend training, and it is understood that when the necessary paperwork is completed to rubber stamp his mutual cancellation of contract that he will continue his career at a lower level.
Midfielder Jordan Clarke who signed on the eve of the new season is the second player to be released.
As revealed by Day on Saturday, Medi Abalimba is for the forseeable future unavailable, and the club will deal with that issue once communication with the player is available.
The club held a trial match behind closed doors at Cherrywood Road last night allowing Day to run the rule over a number of potential signings, and he will make his decisions after training on Thursday evening as to if any on show will be brought into the squad.
The current players registered for the first team are:
Courtney Fearn (Academy)
Elliott Kaldjob (Academy)
Bakari Sinclair-Smith (Academy)
Reece Connolly will not be in contention for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Eastleigh, parent club Aldershot not allowing permission for him to play in this competition.
