Farnborough Football Club are delighted to announce the acquisition of Reece Connolly from Aldershot Town on a two year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The club can also confirm the lifting of the transfer embargo.

It is well known that Farnborough Football Club are working to the most stringent financial constraints and we must make it clear that Reece has been acquired as an asset for the football club and at the age of 20, his services will be a great help in securing our Blue Square South status as we continue to look for new investment or purchasers.

This transfer would have been totally impossible to conclude without the generosity of a supporter and a business as we have made it clear that the football club is in no position to pay any type of transfer fee, and this is very much a one off event.

The individuals have asked for anonymity which the club fully respects and the club pass on our sincere thanks to them for their contributions in making this happen.

Ultimately this brings to a conclusion a very complicated transfer and our thanks go out to Aldershot Town, various other interested parties and the football authorities for their assistance in this process.

Behind the scenes there has been work over and above the call of duty to conclude this and our thanks go to the individuals who have made this happen for the benefit of Farnborough Football Club.

Spencer Day commented “Reece has shown his desire and passion for the club over prolonged loan arrangements over the last two seasons, and I am delighted to have acquired his services going forward. He is a great asset for the football club.”

We are coming to the end of a very challenging but succesful 2012, and we hope the supporters enjoy the early Christmas present.

Reece has been cleared to take his place in the squad for the match against Boreham Wood this afternoon.
