‘BORO slipped to a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Boreham Wood but nevertheless there were positives for manager, Spencer Day to take out of the encounter.
“It was one of those days,” he said. “We dominated the first half and the opening 20 minutes or so of the second period.
“It’s that old cliche of if you don’t score, you don’t win and we couldn’t buy a goal, to be honest. That said, we created numerous chances against one of the better sides in this League, so that gives us heart.
“The scoreline flatters Boreham Wood; it was almost the perfect smash-and-grab for them but we’ll take the positives and look to build upon them.
“I’d be more concerned if we weren’t creating chances. In the end, though, our lack of experience sums up our season.
“We don’t become a bad side overnight and with Reece’s signing, there is plenty for us to be excited about at this football club.”
Boreham Wood took an early lead and then added further goals in quick succession midway through the second half.
