‘BORO manager, Spencer Day is expecting a tight game as his side go head-to-head with Staines Town on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

Both clubs are locked together on 21 points going into the encounter. “I’d say that both teams are over-achieving,” said Day. “We’ve both started the season well and as such it’s going to be a tight game at the weekend.

“They are a young team who like to pass the ball around and they have some talented players in their ranks.

“We’ll be up for the challenge that they will present to us; we’re focussed on the task in hand and will be doing all we can to take the points.

“We’re very competitive at the moment and have an outstanding home record but, that said, we’re not playing to the standards that I know we are capable of.

“It’s important that we hit the heights on Saturday and get the points in the bag.”

Day went on to reveal that Nic Ciardini will be part of the squad having recovered from recent injury, whilst Alfred Bosch-Corbera has a slight back problem which will be assessed in the build-up to the game.
